Pastor Damion was born and raised in Baltimore, MD where he had an eclectic experience with religion. During his early years, he attended Catholic school before transferring to and graduating from a predominately Jewish school. While growing up, his mother, Joyce, was active in a Baptist church and made sure her church influenced him as well. As Pastor Damion matured, he eventually served as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon in the Baptist church where he grew up.
After leaving home and graduating from Cornell University with a B.S. degree in Communications and Johns Hopkins University with an M.B.A., Pastor Damion decided to answer God’s call to full-time ministry. Following a period of discernment, he enrolled at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. where he earned an M.Div.
Since graduating from Wesley, Pastor Damion has served in various capacities at United Methodist Churches in Maryland and North Carolina. Most recently he was Pastor at Westover United Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC. In 2020, Pastor Damion successfully defended his dissertation and earned a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Nova Southeastern University. In June 2024, he became a full Elder in the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.
He has received numerous awards for speaking and he uses that gift to spread the word of Jesus Christ to all who will listen. He believes and speaks often about the power of Christ’s love to change lives.
Pastor Damion’s most important support in ministry comes from his amazing family, including his wife, Chandra, four children (Damion, Jr., Christian, Trinity, and Eden), a granddaughter, Sarai, and his mother, Joyce. They are his most precious accomplishments.
