Your Questions, Answered!

• Why is this an important service? Because church is bigger than the service we usually attend.
  Sunday mornings can naturally keep us connected with the people we see most often. October 4 allows us to worship as one body, bringing our two worship services together and making room for fellowship, lunch, and slower connection afterward.
  It’s a chance to worship with someone new, meet someone you may not know, and celebrate what it means to be one church family.
• What should I wear? Come comfortable!
  Casual clothing is absolutely welcome. Since we’ll be outside, you may also want to bring a hat and sunglasses.
• What happens if it rains?
  We’re hoping for beautiful weather, but we have a plan! Norwood Gardens is flexible about rescheduling. If the weather looks like it will prevent us from worshiping outdoors, we’ll reschedule the outdoor service for another Sunday and worship at 10 am in our Sanctuary instead.
• Are there bathrooms?
  Yes! There are two indoor bathrooms available at Norwood Gardens.
• Is Norwood Gardens handicap and stroller accessible?
  Yes. Handicap parking will be available right next to the worship space, and rubber mats will provide access from those parking spaces to the worship area.
• Where should I park?
  Norwood Gardens has ample parking with several lots available on site. To help make parking easier for everyone, we’ll ask those who are more mobile to use the lower lots. Spaces for those who need easier access will be reserved near the worship space and in the upper lot. You may also park at Soapstone and use the cut-through path next to the Pollinator Garden.
• Will there be activities for children?
  Absolutely! After worship, we’ll have games and art activities planned especially for children.
• Do I need to bring a chair or blanket?
  Please plan to bring a camping chair for worship. If you don’t have one, don’t worry—we’ll bring additional chairs from the church.
• Will there be a nursery?
  Details coming soon! We’re working on the nursery plan and will share more information as soon as it’s available.
• Will the service be livestreamed?
  Unfortunately, we won’t be able to livestream the outdoor service. However, we will provide an online at-home worship option for those who are unable to attend in person.
• Will we celebrate Communion and receive an offering?
  Yes! October 4 is World Communion Sunday, and we look forward to celebrating at Christ’s Table together as one church family. We’ll also have our regular opportunity to offer our gifts and tithes to God.
• What about lunch? Stay and eat with us!
  After worship, we invite you to bring a picnic lunch, or you can purchase BBQ from And Also with Cue, a local food truck that gives back 40% of its monthly income to help feed people experiencing food insecurity. Pre-ordering will be available the week before the event, or you can order on the day of the service. The church will provide drinks, and if you’d like, bring a dessert to share! Dessert is completely optional. Can’t stay for lunch? No problem! You’re welcome to come for worship and head out afterward. But if you’re able, we hope you’ll stay and enjoy the fellowship!
• Can I bring my dog?
  Unfortunately, no pets are allowed at this event. But your furry friends are invited to our Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, September 27 at 4 pm.
• Can I shop at the Norwood Gardens nursery?
  The nursery is closed on Sundays, but feel free to wander the grounds, see what catches your eye, and come back Monday if you find something you’d like to purchase!
• How can I help? Glad you asked!
  There will be lots of ways to help make this special morning happen—from parking attendants and Communion servers to lunch helpers and more. Check out the volunteer sign-up (coming soon) and find a way to serve.
  
  Our Missions Committee will also be collecting food donations for North Raleigh Ministries. Watch for the designated collection area and bring a food item to help support our neighbors.
