On Sunday, October 4, we’re bringing our church family together for a special morning of worship in the Sanctuary.
Enjoy music from our Kids’ Rock children, Chancel Choir, and Praise Team as we worship, celebrate Holy Communion, and give thanks together. After worship, stay for lunch, activities for the kids, and time to slow down and connect with people you may not normally see on Sunday mornings.
Whether you usually worship at 8:30 or 11:00, attend Sunday School, or simply want to experience this special morning with your Soapstone family, we hope you’ll join us!

- Why is this an important service? Because church is bigger than the service we usually attend.
Sunday mornings can naturally keep us connected with the people we see most often. October 4 allows us to worship as one body, bringing our two worship services together and making room for fellowship, lunch, and slower connection afterward.
It’s a chance to worship with someone new, meet someone you may not know, and celebrate what it means to be one church family. - What should I wear? Come comfortable!
Casual clothing is absolutely welcome. Since we’ll be outside, you may also want to bring a hat and sunglasses. - Will there be activities for children? – Absolutely! After worship, we’ll have games and art activities planned especially for children.
- Will there be a nursery?
Our nursery will be fully staffed from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. - Will the service be livestreamed?
Yes! - Will we celebrate Communion and receive an offering?
Yes! October 4 is World Communion Sunday, and we look forward to celebrating at Christ’s Table together as one church family. We’ll also have our regular opportunity to offer our gifts and tithes to God. - What about lunch? Stay and eat with us!
After worship, we invite you to bring a picnic lunch, or you can purchase BBQ from And Also with Cue, a local food truck that gives back 40% of its monthly income to help feed people experiencing food insecurity.You’re invited to bring your lunch or purchase from BBQ Food Truck, And Also with ‘Cue, which will be parked just outside of the Old Creedmoor entrance. You can also pre-order at this link.If you’d like to bring a dessert to share, we’ll have tables set up outside of the Sanctuary, along with tables for drinks. The church will provide drinks, including lemonade, tea and water. Seating will be available upstairs in room 200, along with an additional drink station. Youth are invited to eat lunch together in the Youth Room. You’re also welcome to find a space to eat in the Sanctuary or in classrooms throughout the 1st floor.Most importantly, we hope you’ll make an effort to eat lunch with someone you don’t yet know! - How can I help? Glad you asked! There will be lots of ways to help make this special morning happen—from parking attendants and Communion servers to lunch helpers and more. Check out the volunteer sign-up here and find a way to serve.
Our Missions Committee will also be collecting food donations for North Raleigh Ministries. A cart will be placed at the Norwood entrance where you can leave donated items. The most needed items are Cereal, Peanut Butter, Mac and Cheese, Baby Wipes, and Paper Bags.
