Six Week Inner Work Series—The Enneagram
The Enneagram is a powerful tool for personal and collective transformation. It utilizes nine distinct strategies for relating to self, others, and the world. Each of the nine Enneagram strategies/types has a different pattern of thinking, feeling, and doing that stems from an inner motivation and worldview that we are most often not aware of. Learning about these patterns and the strategy/type that is home base for us can open the door to a more integrated and fulfilling life.
As a path for spiritual formation, the Enneagram has the capacity to make us aware of ways that we have unconsciously built-up inner protections only to find that what we think is keeping us safe is very often keeping us from what we want most– a deeper relationship with God, our self, others, the world around us, and wholeness of life.
Waking up to how these perceptions and protections are limiting us in our lives and relationships has the potential to help us consciously give them less focus so that we may more fully receive, experience, and offer what God is cultivating in us. “Things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity…a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely,” (Galatians 5:22-23, The Message Bible).
