“With you we rebuild homes & share hope making low-income eastern NC homes dry, safe and secure.”
The next CRM trip will be March 2-6, 2026! Conatct the office to get connected and join the team!
The team will continue with the house that was worked on in early January, 2026. It is owned by 91 year old woman who lives alone and has been in the house for nearly 80 years. She was known to feed many of the children in a rough neighborhood on a regular basis over the years. Conatct the office to get connected and join the team!
In 2025 Soapstone teamed up with the Carolina Rebuilding Ministry and restored a home that will become a halfway house for former prisoners reintegrating into society.
The homeowner is a parole officer at the Bertie Correctional facility (state men’s prison) who wants to help the men readmitting into society, by providing a halfway home for 6 people. Purdue and Sara Lee companies are partnering with him to provide jobs.
This is a ranch house that was originally a wooden house – later it was wrapped in brick. The house has two pieces, a new section on the left of the house which added a master bedroom and bath. This new section already has vinyl windows. The second piece is the original part of the house on the right.

See the many other projects our teams have worked on over the last few years!
