It's Back to School Time!

Soapstone has supported Baileywick Elementary School for many years. It started when then Bishop Hope Morgan Ward started “Congregations for Children” (C4C), a statewide initiative for the United Methodist Church to help children in public schools who were living in poverty and the teachers and staff who work with them.

Over the years, Soapstone partnered and contributed to Baileywick in many ways. We have collected and donated school supplies, snacks, hygiene supplies for students, classroom supplies for teachers to use in their classrooms (to ease their out-of-pocket expenses for the things that are not supplied by Wake Co. Public Schools) that enhance learning, and Food Lion and Walmart gift cards to distribute as they learn of families in need. We will kick off this school year by again collecting supplies for the teachers and staff to enhance learning in the classrooms.

The administration has provided us with a list of those needs. That list has been provided HERE and below. You can drop off your donations at the Norwood or Old Creedmoor entrances in the designated tubs anytime between now and Aug. 16th.

What Soapstone does for Baileywick helps to give these students a chance!! A story was told a story a few years ago that is worth repeating, about someone asking, “How we do what we do? How do you provide so much?” The answer given was “because we’re Soapstone!”
