Rooted in Faith, Growing in Community: A Soapstone UMC Women’s Retreat
March 20-22, 2026, Camp Rockfish, Bergland Center
United in Christ’s love, we invite you to a weekend where faith takes root and friendships blossom. Come share your story, nurture your heart, and experience the joy of connecting with God and one another. Our retreat will be filled with Spirit-inspired sessions, sacred conversations, and opportunities for genuine connection no matter where you are on your spiritual path. Whether you’re new to Soapstone or seeking a fresh start, come as you are: together, let’s find our place in God’s ever-growing family.
This retreat will be led by the Rev. J. Dana Trent.
Dana is an author, minister, and professor, known for her books on spirituality and faith, including her memoir Between Two Trailers, which recounts her upbringing in a drug-trafficking family experiencing poverty and mental illness in Indiana. A graduate of Duke Divinity School, she is a former hospital chaplain and now teaches World Religions and Critical Thinking at Wake Tech Community College. As a speaker, Dana is effervescent, funny, compassionate and authentic. She is willing to tell her own hard truths, and gives space for others to do the same.
A group of 34 women from Soapstone joined at the Trinity Center in March of 2025 for a retreat focused on Sabbath!
