The Delight Song of Soapstone Women
I am a reflection of the sun as it rises and stretches across the sea.
I am a sunrise beginning each new day, and endless possibilities.
I am the bluest eye in the bright blue sky.
I am shades of blue.
I am the thistle in the wind that tickles your nose, kisses your cheek and dances in your hair.
I am the breath that fills and calms the soul.
I am the flow of the water ever moving, rising and falling as the earth turns.
I am continually filled like a flowing stream.
I am the sea of life and wave of God’s love.
I am the waves of wonder.
I am afloat in July in the green lake water surrounded by life.
I am a pebble polished smooth by the raging river around me.
I am a lightning strike in the midst of a summer storm.
I am under storm now but it will be calmed soon.
I am sometimes a gentle rain and sometimes a fierce hail storm.
I am the drop of water running down your cheek.
I am the covenant of the rainbow, a promise of hope and peace.
I am a pebble rolling down a hill.
I am the fluff of a dandelion, fragile and floating.
I am the seed of life and love.
I am the root of the flower hidden under the dirt.
I am a flower breaking through the warming soil after a dormant season.
I am a wildflower reaching to the heavens.
I am a lotus flower arising above the muddy calm water.
I am the sea shell uniquely created in his beauty.
I am a trail meandering through the woods; a traveler on a winding road.
I am a tree with my leaves in the sunshine and my roots holding firmly in the earth.
I am grounded and faithful
I am the solitary spark of fire, rising into the dark night.
I am the bright ember of fire, feeling God’s spirit igniting new directions in me,
I am a flame to light the way of others.
I am your beloved daughter who needs grace every day.
You see, I am alive, I am alive
I stand in good relation to the earth
I stand in good relation to [God]
I stand in good relation to all that is beautiful
I stand in good relation to my sisters in Christ.
You see, I am alive, I am alive.
