Welcoming a Syrian Refugee Family

In partnership with Questscope, Soapstone United Methodist Church is honored to sponsor a refugee family from Syria who arrived in Raleigh in September 2024. The family—a mother, father, 14-year-old daughter, and two sons, ages 12 and 6—has begun a new chapter with hope and courage.

Since their arrival, Soapstone members have worked together to find the family safe housing, enroll the children in local schools, and support the parents with English language classes and job search assistance.

The Soapstone Refugee Fund is being used to help cover the family’s living expenses as they work toward financial independence through employment.

We are grateful for the faithful and compassionate efforts of our Soapstone members and friends who have directly supported the family.

Your continued prayers and support make this ministry possible. To learn more about how you can help, please contact the church office.
