Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and it’s right around the corner. However, as I tell you guys this every year – I get so caught up in the “must-do’s/should-do’s/have to’s” of the season that I forget to take a step back, breathe, and remember why we actually celebrate this holiday. I know I’m not the only one who does this, so if you are reading this note, use this as your reminder to stop, breathe, and say one blessing.

In fact, I’ve come up with another strategy you may want to use. For every worried thought or reminder, I will say one blessing. For example (and true story)…

“Ack! I didn’t iron the tablecloth for Thanksgiving! Wait..do people still use tablecloths for Thanksgiving? Do I need a new tablecloth for Thanksgiving? Mine has blue paint on it from Christmas 2 years ago…”

to

“My kids are healthy and don’t care about tablecloths.”

That makes me feel a little better. And feel free to chime in on the Thanksgiving tablecloth question – yes or no?

At the end of the day, whether you are staying home or traveling near or far, I hope you find the joy in this particular holiday. I hope you find the beauty in the gratitude amongst the chaos. I hope you celebrate family traditions proudly and make some new memories. As for me? I’ll be where I love to be on Thanksgiving Day – running a trot, watching a parade, prepping in my kitchen, playing football with my crew, and saying prayers of thanksgiving at the dining room table, tableclothed or not, because I’ll be with my family.

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Matthew 6:21

To our preschool community – we wish you a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Thank you for your generosity and support, and as always, we are grateful to you for sharing your most precious treasures with us.

Blessings and love,

💜Ms. Jess
