This service is most meaningful if you set aside time to reflect on the Covenant Prayer in advance. Read it here. You may also choose to come and reflect in silence as the prayer is said together.
John Wesley and the early Methodists held the first Covenant Renewal Service in 1755. Of that service, Wesley wrote in his journal:”It was, as usual, a time of remarkable blessing … many desired to return thanks, either for a sense of pardon, for full salvation, or for a fresh manifestation of His graces.” May it be so for you as we begin this new year committing ourselves to God!
