Program Structure & Staff

Program

Teachers plan their curriculum following the guidelines from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development.

In addition to the regular class activities, special programs including music and movement classes and weekly chapel are offered for each age level. Chapel is conducted by our church staff to introduce the children to simple stories of Jesus and the Bible.

Two of the daily activities are morning snack and playground times. Parents are scheduled on a rotating basis to bring in morning snacks. Playground activity is scheduled daily for the children to experience free play and fresh air (weather permitting).  The class schedule varies for each age and is posted in the classroom.

Soapstone Preschool Staff

We are dedicated to making our Preschool an enriching workplace and are proud that our staff has a very low turn rate.  Our teachers have been with Soapstone Preschool  for an average of 10 years.

CPR and First Aid training are provided for all staff members.  Staff members are required to take yearly classes related to preschool education.
