Wilson McMillan

Wil has been active at Soapstone United Methodist Church his whole life as his family joined Soapstone in 1994 well before he  was born. As a teen, he helped Mr. Steve with first grade Sunday School, and recently he has discovered how much fun it is to volunteer to help the Boomers. Wil grew up in the children’s program, participated in youth, and is now excited to be an employee of the church.

Wil’s life story has taken him through some difficult times and great opportunities, and he knows that the love and prayers of his Soapstone family have supported him and celebrated with him always. He attended Raleigh Charter High School, Leesville High School and Summit Preparatory School in Montana. Wil discovered his love for snow skiing and rock climbing in Montana and honed his skills in backpacking and primitive camping skills while there. He is now dedicated to beginning his college education at Wake Tech Community College. He is enjoying  meeting new people and exploring his opportunities for a career.

He has worked as a lifeguard, in landscaping, as a restaurant service person, and in construction. He is very glad that his job at Soapstone is in the air conditioning. He says the “members of Soapstone respect and care about their space”, and that makes his job a joy.
