Oyku GollerLead Pianist
Oyku Goller was born in Istanbul, where she began piano lessons at the age of four. She is a graduate of the Istanbul University State conservatory, where she studied with many outstanding professors including several Americans who encouraged her to complete her masters in the United States, which brought her here.
As lead pianist at Soapstone, Oyku enjoys working with talented musicians and collaborating to make music together. She feels God has called her to help bring music alive. She believes music is more than what’s written on the sheets. It’s a powerful instrument to create and cultivate feelings, and she strives to move us all to do our best in our hearts.
When she’s not working, Oyku spends time walking her dog in the woods enjoying nature. She is the daughter of a cargo ship captain and a retired elementary school teacher. Oyku feels that Soapstone is “like family” and seeks to share the warm and welcoming spirit of our beautiful church.
