You will find Katie Cable in many areas at Soapstone. She began working at SUMC in 2010 in the nursery and as the Sexton. However, since then she has grown into other positions on staff at Soapstone. Currently during the work week, you will find her in the church office as our Communications Coordinator and Financial Secretary.
Katie has been a member of Soapstone since 2010 and is currently participating in many of the children and youth activities like Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, Kids Rock, and Youth Mission trips. Through her service, Katie has discovered her strong gift for teaching young children about the Bible and supporting our youth as they grow into young adults.
She also is part of a special ministry, taking care of our congregation, by creating prayer shawls, cooking meals, and sending cards to those who need extra love and support.
She considers SUMC her family’s second home and cherishes her church family. When not working, Katie enjoys spending time with her family making new memories even if it’s just working in the yard together or cooking up something yummy in the kitchen. She is married to Greg, who is a long-time church member and they have three children who have also been very active at SUMC over the years.
