Helen HintonChurch Treasurer, Preschool Director
Helen Hinton, grew up in Lexington, SC and was raised in the Lutheran Church. After graduating from Clemson University with a degree in Accounting, she married, and relocated to Mississippi. She and her husband Mike joined the Methodist Church while living in Mississippi, and have continued to be United Methodist ever since. When they relocated to Raleigh in 1991, they joined Soapstone and have been active members for more than two decades.
Helen currently serves as the church treasurer and the preschool director. Helen enjoys working with children and adults and her positions at Soapstone provide the opportunity for her to do both. Helen considers her strongest gifts to be interacting with others, being a good listener and working with numbers. She works daily to be a positive influence and give encouragement to all. She has traveled on mission trips with her sons to Guatemala, Kinston, and the Hinton Rural Life Center during her time as a volunteer youth leader with SUMC’s youth program.
Helen enjoys traveling, reading, biking and is an avid Clemson Tiger fan. She lives in Raleigh with Mike and their two dogs, Belle and Daisy. They have two adult sons, Michael and Robbie.
